What conditions do you treat at Sun Chiropractic?

Our team treats a wide range of musculoskeletal and health-related conditions, including neck and back pain, headaches, joint stiffness, sports injuries, postural issues, pregnancy-related pain, and post-surgical rehabilitation. We also offer care for workplace and motor vehicle injuries under WorkCover and CTP claims.

What is the difference between chiropractic and physiotherapy?

While both focus on improving movement and reducing pain, chiropractic care at Sun Chiropractic primarily focuses on spinal and joint alignment, while physiotherapy targets muscle strength, mobility, and rehabilitation. Our practitioners work closely together to provide a combined treatment plan that addresses the root cause of your discomfort from every angle.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor, physiotherapist, or Chinese medicine practitioner?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with any of our practitioners. However, if you are claiming through WorkCover, CTP, DVA, or an EPC plan from your GP, a referral may be required for insurance or Medicare purposes.

What should I expect during my first visit?

At your initial consultation, your practitioner will take a detailed health history, assess your posture, movement, and any areas of pain or dysfunction. They’ll then discuss a tailored treatment plan that may include hands-on therapy, exercise, dry needling, shockwave therapy, or traditional Chinese medicine techniques such as acupuncture or cupping.

Do you offer dry needling or acupuncture?

Yes. Our chiropractors and physiotherapists offer dry needling as part of musculoskeletal care, targeting muscle trigger points to release tension and improve function. Our Chinese medicine practitioners also provide acupuncture, which uses similar fine needles but is based on traditional meridian therapy to promote overall balance and wellbeing.

What is shockwave therapy, and when is it used?

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to stimulate healing in chronic or stubborn soft-tissue injuries such as tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or shoulder and elbow pain. It’s often used alongside manual therapy and exercise to accelerate recovery.

Can I claim treatments through private health insurance?

Yes. Most of our services, including chiropractic, physiotherapy, and acupuncture, are claimable under extras cover with private health funds. We offer on-the-spot claiming (HICAPS) for your convenience.

Do you accept WorkCover and CTP patients?

Absolutely. Sun Chiropractic accepts patients under WorkCover and CTP claims. Our team can assist with all necessary paperwork, communicate with insurers and case managers, and provide structured treatment plans to support your safe and timely recovery.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on the nature of your condition, how long you’ve had it, and your individual response to treatment. Your practitioner will outline an estimated plan at your first visit. Our focus is on achieving lasting results through a combination of treatment, education, and prevention strategies.

Do you treat children and pregnant women?

Yes. Our team provides gentle and safe care for patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, and expectant mothers. We offer specialised approaches for pregnancy-related back or pelvic pain, postural support, and general wellbeing throughout pregnancy.
